Anarkali was a slave girl and a dancer in the court of Mughal King Akbar and Salim was the prince who was sent away for 14 years and came later as a soldier. Akbar ordered a dance performance as a celebration and Anarkali was the dancer. Salim fell in love at the very instance and decided to marry her but her father opposed him and Anarkali was entombed alive between a brick wall.
