Have you seen Shaggy 2 Dope no makeup pictures? Born Joseph William Utsler, Shaggy 2 Dope is an American rapper, record producer, and DJ. He is also the podcast host of Shaggy and The Creep Show. One thing that is unique about this rapper is he always wears makeup. You can hardly see him without makeup.

Maybe it is because he also had an average wrestling career. And makeup is quite common in wrestling. The professional wrestler is part of the hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse and co-founder of the record label Psychopathic Records. The other part of the duo is rapper Violent J, born Joseph Bruce.

Utsler and Bruce are also founders of the professional wrestling promotion Juggalo Championship Wrestling. At the moment, he serves as a color commentator there.

Career Journey

Born Joseph Utsler, Shaggy 2 Dope formed the group JJ boys back in 1989. At the time, he also went by the name Master J. They released the single Party at the Top of the Hill, but the group did not pursue a career in music.

The next year, three of them, Violent J, 2 Dope, and John Kickjazz formed the group Inner City Posse. They performed at local nightclubs and hired record store owner Alex Abbiss as their manager. In 1991, they established the Psychopathic Records label.

Fun fact, Joseph Bruce recalled a dream of a clown running around in Delray, and that became the inspiration for their new name, Insane Clown Posse. That is also the inspiration for their clown makeup.

In 1992, only Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope remained in the group. Their style is somewhat of hardcore hip hop or horrorcore. They are famous for their dark and violent lyrics and elaborate performances. So far, they have two platinum and five gold albums.

Wrestling Career

Besides music, Shaggy 2 Dope is a famous wrestler. He began wrestling alongside his brother John and his friend Violent J. They got involved in backyard wrestling and created wrestling rings for their made-up promotion.

In 1990, Violent J was the first of the group to begin a career in professional wrestling. He brought Joey along with him backstage and continued performing. Shaggy returned to wrestling in the independent circuit in 1996, under the name Sewer Dwell.

In 1998, the group was asked by the World Wrestling Federation, WWF to perform the entrance theme for the wrestling group The Oddities.

In 1999, Bruce and Utsler created their own wrestling promotion, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, or Juggalo Wrestling. In 2007, JCW launched SlamTV!, returning to the wrestling ring.

Shaggy 2 Dope and his friend Violent J have remained in both music and wrestling for years.
